As with all trouble code indications first reaction will be to replace fuel sensor or PEM module (fuel pump module) which is a known issue due to bad location right in front of right rear wheel and exposed to elements. And that is what was done in this case, Fuel Sensor and PEM were replaced with OEM parts. That did not fix the problem. Check engine light came back within a week with same ECM 2600 Fuel Pressure Sensor, Signal Too High fault code.

Solution: Replace Engine Oil Cap. Issue was a failing engine oil cap gasket and can affect all Volvo models…and other cars for that matter. As time passes engine oil cap gasket fails due to engine heat/cold cycles and introduces unmeasured air into manifold causing all kinds of erratic problems with fuel trims.
