How to Change Toyota Key Fob Battery: Key fob is from a 2012 Toyota Venza. Key Fob or Remote Key design is shared by most Toyota models: Camry, Corolla, Venza, Matrix, Highlander, Rav-4.

How to Dismantle Toyota Key Fob
Use small flat screwdriver to replace key fob battery. Split key fob in two separate halves. Use slot on top right hand corner to open it (red arrow). Insert screwdriver on one key fob corner and pry key fob open. Be careful do not use too much force as key fob is fragile and you might break it, slowly does it.
Split key fob in half. Remove inner part (red circle, image below) of key fob by inserting screwdriver on side slot (blue arrow) and lifting up. Inner shell is where battery and key fob electronics are located.
Open Inner shell next. There are five small tabs on all sided holding inner shell together. Use a small and thin flat screwdriver to pry it open. Be careful as tabs are fragile and break easily. Start on one side and work your way around until tabs are released.
Lift inner shell cover. Again, careful with those tabs. If you break them use a bit of superglue.
How to Replace Toyota Key Fob Battery
Battery is secured with three metal tabs, as you see on image above. It’s designed slide in and out on one side. Push old battery out and install new battery noting polarity orientation, positive side is up. Below is Toyota Key Fob Battery model. It’s a 3V CR2025, available for purchase almost everywhere, nothing special.
Close inner cover of key fob and place it back inside outer shell. Press outer shell halves together until you hear them click. Toyota key fob does not need any programing and should work normally after battery replacement.
