How to Change Downstream Oxygen Sensor Hyundai Tuscon: Vehicle is a 2015 Hyundai Tucson 2.4 liter engine. Procedure for replacing O2 sensor on 2.0L engine is more or less same as 2.4L but O2 sensor is located in a different location, after catalytic converter on bottom exhaust pipe. Actually, downstream O2 sensor is easier to replace on 2.0L engine.

Hyundai Tucson oxygen sensor cost anywhere between $50 to $120 depending on sensor brand. Amazon and Rockauto has them for about $50. However, make sure to buy the right sensor for model, year and engine.

Hyundai Tuscon Downstream Oxygen Sensor Failure

Downstream O2 sensor does not affect engine operation, its only a monitoring sensor. Sensor measures amount of oxygen to verify proper operation of catalytic converter Downstream O2 sensor will trigger a check engine light if catalytic converter fails, “Catalytic Converter Below Efficiency” with trouble code P0420..
